Privacy notice

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from anyone else. Reading it tells us only what any web server is told: that a page was requested.
Who we are
Gotoh Industries LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States, is the controller of the personal data described here. Its registered details are on the about page. Write to us at privacy@gotoh-industries.com.
What this notice covers
The website at gotoh-industries.com, and email you send us. Our products each have their own privacy notice, published with the product, because they handle quite different data.
What we collect when you visit
Our web server writes an access log entry for each request. It records your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the response status, and the browser’s user-agent string. We use it to keep the site running and to investigate abuse and faults. Log entries are deleted after 14 days.
- No cookies. The site stores nothing in your browser.
- No analytics. We do not count or profile visitors.
- No third-party content. Every page, style sheet and image is served from our own server, so visiting sends no request to any other company.
- No advertising, and no sale or sharing of personal data.
Our lawful basis for keeping these logs is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (UK and EU GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
When you email us
Mail to an address at this domain is received by Mailgun Technologies, Inc. (United States) on our behalf and forwarded to our own mailbox. We keep your message, your email address and anything you put in it for as long as we need it to deal with the matter and to keep a record of the correspondence, and then delete it. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, or, where your message is about a contract with us, the performance of that contract.
Who else sees your data
Only the providers that make the service work: Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany), which hosts the server, and Mailgun, which handles inbound email. Each acts on our instructions. We disclose personal data otherwise only where the law requires it.
Where your data is held
The server is in Germany. Email is processed in the United States. Where personal data leaves the UK or the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, with the UK addendum where it applies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable form. Ask at privacy@gotoh-industries.com and we will answer within one month. You may also complain to your data protection authority: in the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office, and in the EU the authority for the country you live in.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used in California law, and we make no automated decisions about anyone.
Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top of the page.
